Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the many blessing we have in our lives.

Every year we gather around the table, eat too much, watch a little football, maybe sneak in a morning or afternoon hunt, or better yet, a trip to the fishing hole. For many of us it is a time to share our blessings with family and friends and to take stock in everything good in our lives. This Holiday let’s not forget those who are less fortunate, or away from their families overseas protecting our freedoms, or those who have lost loved ones this past year. Today is the time to step out of ourselves and think about others and what we can do to better their lives.

A few years ago we began asking some of our “solo” friends to come over to the house and join us. Folks that would otherwise spend the day alone or worse, working! So every Thanksgiving we have an eclectic crowd that shares our home and our hearts, it makes us feel like we have a big family! Some times we travel to frozen north of Ohio, where both our families are from, and share the chow line with no less than 33 of my wife’s immediate family. The Ryan Family Thanksgiving comes complete with Nephews singing opera and Irish dancing, and the ever popular tradition of all the grand kids getting up and doing some performance of something. Family and friends, great food, the blessing of love and laughter, what else could we ask for or ever desire. We truly do have a lot to be grateful for, enjoy the Holiday, invite a “solo” friend, hug all the kids, and kiss grandma, they’ll love ya for it!

From all of us at MOP Harrell, God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving!
