23 Acres Timber – Recreational – Undeveloped Land

Affordable 23 AC recreational tract on the Eastern Shore!! This secluded wooded tract is accessible by way of deeded easement and the property itself, approximately ½ mile off route 622. The parcel is surrounded by tall timber and is a perfect whitetail habitat! Priced below assessment, this tract offers an opportunity to own your own piece of land without “breaking the bank”.

Located 2 hours from Hampton Roads, Virginia’s Eastern Shore offers a bounty of natural and unspoiled beauty. This tract lies within Machipongo in Northampton Co. and is the southern portion of the 70-mile long Delmarva Peninsula. This is a truly unique area, which has remained relatively unchanged throughout the years. The Shore has many spectacular natural areas to explore including Wreck Island and the Eastern Shore of VA National Wildlife Refuge. Wreck Island is part of Virginia’s Atlantic coast barrier island chain. This pristine island preserve consists of beach, dune, and maritime grassland/shrub land, salt-flat and salt marsh habitats. Dune-like mounds of ancient shells parallel much of the beach. The preserve can only be accessed by boat. The island is near the southern terminus of the chain of barrier islands along Virginia’s Eastern Shore and the nearest public boat ramp is about seven miles to the west in the town of Oyster.

The Wildlife Refuge is located at the tip of the Delmarva Peninsula, and this area is one of the most important avian migration funnels in North America. Each fall, the refuge is the scene of a spectacular drama as millions of songbirds and monarch butterflies and thousands of raptors converge on their voyage south. Favorable weather patterns push migrating species through the area in waves. Tree swallows and black-winged monarch butterflies are present in droves. Protected habitats such as these provide critical stopover areas where birds and butterflies can rest and feed before resuming their journey.

Come explore all the unspoiled beauty of the E. Shore. This tract won’t last long, come stake your claim and have a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life!
