This trophy managed 373 +/- acres in Franklin County, Virginia has been a hunter’s paradise in the making for the last 25 years! It started as 40 acres and the building of a 1900 square foot 3- bedroom 2 bath cabin with a wrap-around porch and has been built into a luxury, managed hunting ground and a place where memories are made every time you set foot here. There are 6 parcels total that have been acquired over the years and there has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears to develop this very unique property into what it is today.

Along with the cabin there are numerous other outbuildings that have been constructed over the years. There are also two old rustic homes on the property that will get you imagining days long ago in Franklin County. An outside wood stove has been installed along with a wood storage shed that allows for supplemental heat for both the main cabin and the shop in the colder months. When hunting season is in and you are enjoying some down time with family and friends you won’t have to worry about taking game to the local processor after a tag is filled because next to the barn is a game cleaning station. This area contains a gambrel hoist, sink, water, electric and a walk-in cooler. Many nights have been spent in this area talking about the days hunt, admiring the trophies that were harvested, and telling a few stories. There are several other places to make memories and enjoy time with family and friends while taking in the spectacular mountain views this property has to offer. There is a custom-built hot tub and fire pit area that lie just a few steps off of the cabin porch and they overlook the pond, food plots, and creek below the cabin. Deer, bear and turkeys frequent these areas daily and allow for some great wildlife watching while enjoying the company of others.

The structures on this property are not the only labor of love that have been created over the years. There have been miles of interior gravel roads and trails built throughout the property that make every inch completely accessible. Named road signs have also been installed to help guests that come to the property get to specific areas without getting lost and to help them find their way back to the cabin after an evening hunt. Approximately 20 acres of food plots have been created throughout. These plots have been maintained over the years and have already been planted this year. There are also numerous tree-stands and box blinds that have been strategically placed on the food plots and throughout the wooded areas of this property. Many of these stands and blinds have amazing views that you can enjoy while waiting for that trophy. If you thought that 373 managed hunting acres couldn’t get any better, it does. Joe grew up the son of a Game Warden of 30 years while learning to appreciate the outdoors for its beauty and recreational opportunities. His love of the outdoors led him to a degree in Recreation and Parks Management from West Virginia University. After graduation, he became a State Park Ranger in North Carolina where he helped manage the beginning development for one of the largest parks in the state. The beauty of Central Virginia called him back home where he worked as the Recreation Specialist and Tourism Director for Amherst County. Now a husband and father of 2 girls, Joe is right back at home selling properties to families and individuals who appreciate the values of the outdoors. His dedication to land stewardship makes him an excellent fit to Mossy Oak Properties of Virginia!
