REDUCED! 109 Acres of Hunting Land For Sale in King and Queen County VA!

REDUCED! 27-Acre Cornfield – Swamp Bottom and Pond – Cutovers that have been Reseeded – This Property is a Hunter’s Dream

109 acres of excellent habitat for all game animals makes this property a phenomenal opportunity to secure a quality piece of hunting land. The land has excellent road frontage on Timber Branch Rd and Devil Three Jump Rd in King and Queen County. Just a half hour away from Tappahannock and one hour from downtown Richmond, it’s an easy property to get to in the morning before a hunt.

The 27-acre cornfield is an excellent dove and turkey field. The dove birds are already piling in. A local farmer leases the field to plant and will plant either corn or soybeans.

Once you go through the gated entrance, there is a good road system to get you around a lot of the property, but not the entire land. Along the road system there is a ton of potential for tilling the soil and planting small food plots all over the western side of the property. The road will lead you to a small, unfinished cabin that makes for a great little clubhouse or spot to post up over a weekend of hunting. The road continues down to the pond/swamp that is known to hold many wood ducks, and the occasional big duck and goose.

There are several cutovers on the property, which is excellent for the wildlife. There are rabbits everywhere on the property and the deer find cover and safety in the small seedling pines. The cutovers were reseeded about five years ago.

The turkeys love to roost in the trees that separate the swamp from the cutovers, and either fly down to the main field, or slowly walk their way after dropping down from the roost. One benefit to owning this land is that on the East side of the property, the land borders the Dragon Run State Forest, so if you begin hunting a turkey on your land and the birds flies to the other side of the road or a new bird strikes up in the State Forest, you are good to go. There are many advantages when owning land that borders public land.

Overall, this is an excellent hunting property with tons of potential for the next owner. Call today to schedule a showing!

Worth Osgood is a proud Virginian who is intimately familiar with Old Dominion. Born and raised in Richmond, Worth grew up traveling around the state hunting and playing baseball. He began hunting at age nine and was immediately hooked the first time he set foot in a duck blind. Duck hunting is Worth’s greatest passion and he travels across the country each year in search for where the migration leads the birds. Worth and his trusty dog, Major, are rarely separated from one another going practically everywhere together: Major especially enjoys trips to the hardware store. The two travel around the state attending AKC Hunt Tests in the duck hunting offseason, where Major became a Junior Champion at 10 months old; they are now working on achieving Major’s Senior Title. Outside of duck hunting and dog training, Worth loves to get out on the water and fish. Whether fishing for cobia in the Chesapeake Bay along the Northern Neck, or out on the open ocean in search of big tuna and trophy billfish, Worth is always down to go fishing. Worth followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather attending Hampden-Sydney College where he was an active member of the Sigma Nu fraternity and the Hampden-Sydney Ducks Unlimited Club. In January of 2015, Worth received a Citation for Bravery and Courage from the college’s Board of Trustees for his actions in rescuing a truck driver from a major collision on Interstate 95. He went on to graduate in May of 2016 with degrees in Economics and History. Immediately following graduation, Worth moved to Virginia Beach and began working for the Real Estate Investment Trust Armada Hoffler, where he was an asset manager; he spent his first year out of college managing operations for commercial developments throughout Virginia and Maryland. In August 2017, Worth made the change from corporate real estate to land brokerage, and fulfilled his dream of working in the outdoor industry. Worth has fully immersed himself in Mossy Oak Properties and shows up every day with a smile on his face. If you ask him, he’d say he doesn’t work, but rather he gets to do what he loves every day. Worth’s energy and love for the outdoors makes him an enjoyable agent to work with; he believes that we should leave land in better condition than we found it. You will see his commitment and passion for the great outdoors from the moment you meet him and he will give you that same level of commitment when listing your property or helping you buy one. Pick up the phone and give him a call, you’ll sure be glad you did.
