UNDER CONTRACT! 10 Acres of Hunting Land For Sale in Henry County VA!

Secluded hunting/aviation property-borders large timber company/county tracts-minutes from Martinsville Speedway!

This property is a hidden Henry County gem with huge hunting potential! This very affordable 10.16 acres borders over 1700 acres of timber company land to the north and more than 1800 acres of Henry County industrial land to the south. These tracts are sanctuaries for wildlife with little hunting pressure that allows whitetails and turkeys to reach maturity. Just get your food plots planted and draw them in. The property is a good mix of cutover, hardwood bottoms and open food plot areas. The transition areas between the hardwood and cutover areas provide great habitat for wildlife to thrive and there are two streams on the property that provide the necessary water and travel corridors that wildlife seek out. These areas are also the perfect place to hang your stand for hunting season. Deer and turkeys are plentiful on this property, but there has also been the occasional bear picked up on trail camera and if you are a wing shooter, sunflowers plots that have been planted in previous years have produced some good dove shoots. There is an elevated box stand that will convey that overlooks some food plot areas that have been cleared. Plant your favorite fall food plot, jump in your box stand, and start hunting mature whitetails this fall!

If you are an aviator this property might just be the one you have been looking for. This unique property is a corner parcel on the Loury Lester Airpark Subdivision. This Airpark Subdivision was created by a group of aviators around 1980 who had a passion for flying and wanted a private place that they could enjoy their passion. This Airpark is well maintained and still in pristine condition to this day. Inquire about the aero club, bring your plane and have access to the private 4000 ft turf runway and aircraft parking area.

If you are a NASCAR race fan and love those short track races you can bring your camper and friends and enjoy the race week because this property is less than 10 miles from Martinsville Speedway! This famous Speedway was founded in 1947 and is the only track that has hosted the NASCAR Cup Series races every year since the division’s inception in 1949. The .526-mile Speedway is the shortest track on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit. Because of its small size, tight corners and unique shape Martinsville Speedway offers some of the most exciting and close-quarters racing in the sport and the fans are closer to the action than any other track on the circuit. The cars are never more than a few hundred yards away and sometimes they seem close enough to reach out and touch.

This very unique property located in the foothills of Virginia’s beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains is waiting for you! It has a lot to offer at an affordable price and with hunting season right around the corner it won’t last long so give me a call and let me show you your next hunting hot spot!

Joel’s love for the outdoors started at a young age in the mountains and steams of northeastern Pennsylvania. As a child, it was simple walks in the woods with his Father observing wildlife and foraging for wild berries that sparked his passion for wildlife, land, and conservation. That passion continued to grow as he got older. He started chasing trout in those cold mountain streams and spending more time in the outdoors alone, but when he was 12 years old and his Grandfather took him whitetail hunting for the first time, that is when his outdoor passion became an obsession. “I can remember everything about that day. I remember the anticipation and the excitement. I remember how cold it was and I remember following my Grandfather through the woods to sit on that old stone wall. I remember all the deer and wildlife we saw that day. We never got a shot, but that day will stay with me forever and that is what it is all about.” Joel joined the United States Air Force when he was 22 and he spent the next 20 years on active duty but continued pursuing his obsession in his off time while stationed in South Carolina, Virginia, and North Dakota. He volunteered with managing wildlife and property on military installations throughout his career and managed a 400 acre private hunt club in King and Queen County Virginia for 9 years. At the end of his Air Force career and in anticipation of his career after active duty, Joel’s love for wildlife and conservation drove him to complete a BS degree in Environmental Studies with a concentration in Fish and Wildlife Management from American Military University in 2015. Joel’s volunteer work with the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Mule Deer Foundation while stationed in North Dakota also led him to become part of the Mossy Oak ProStaff Team in 2015. Joel retired from the Air Force in 2017 and returned to his wife Jennifer, their dogs and home in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Bedford, Virginia where he continues to represent Mossy Oak on their ProStaff Team. He is continuing his volunteer work by serving as a committee member of both the Bedford Outdoor Sportsman’s Association and the Botetourt Longbeards National Wild Turkey Federation chapter. He also volunteers with the Bedford Whorley Ducks Unlimited chapter and the Virginia Hunters for the Hungry program. Joel continues to pursue his obsession which now also includes being right at home as part of the Mossy Oak Properties Team helping others realize their dreams of owning a special piece of property so that they too may pursue their outdoor obsessions. Joel’s education, love for the outdoors and conservation, and his dedication to the Mossy Oak brand make him a perfect fit as part of the Mossy Oak Properties of Virginia Team.
